Resource Updates Following Changes to AS/NZS 3008.1.1:2025

Recent amendments to AS/NZS 3008.1.1:2025 relating to the selection of cables have resulted in updates to several of our electrical training resources.

These changes ensure continued alignment with current industry standards and support learners and trainers to maintain compliance and best practice in low voltage electrical installations.

Updated resources will be available via our Learning Management System (LMS) from 1 July 2026.

Units Most Affected

The following units have undergone significant revision to reflect the updated cable selection requirements:

  • UEEEL0018 Select wiring systems and select cables for low voltage electrical installations
  • UEEEL0020 Solve problems in low voltage a.c. circuits
  • UEEEL0039 Design, install and verify compliance and functionality of general electrical installations

Units with Minor Updates

The following units have received minor amendments to ensure consistency with the revised Standard:

  • UEEAS0007 Assemble, mount and connect control gear and switchgear
  • UEEAS0009 Mount and wire control panel equipment
  • UEEEL0002 Apply currency of safe working practices and compliance verification of electrical installations
  • UEEEL0003 Arrange circuits, control and protection for electrical installations
  • UEEEL0012 Install low voltage wiring, appliances, switchgear and associated accessories
  • UEEEL0014 Isolate, test and troubleshoot low voltage electrical circuits
  • UEEEL0028 Conduct compliance and functional verification of electrical apparatus and existing circuits
  • UEEEL0040 Develop compliance policies and plans to conduct an electrical contracting business
  • UEERE0054 Conduct site survey for grid-connected photovoltaic and battery storage systems
  • UEERE0061 Design grid-connected photovoltaic power supply systems
  • UEERE0080 Install photovoltaic power conversion equipment to grid
  • UEERE0081 Install photovoltaic systems to power conversion equipment

What This Means for RTOs and Trainers

From 1 July 2026, updated materials must be used to ensure alignment with the revised Standard. We recommend reviewing transition arrangements and updating delivery and assessment plans accordingly.

MACGT (NAT11297) Resources Updated Following Changes to AS/NZS 3008.1.1:2025

Changes to AS/NZS 3008.1.1:2025 have resulted in updates to our Minimum Australian Context Gap Training (MACGT) – NAT11297 Course in Electrician – Minimum Australian Context Gap resources to ensure continued alignment with current Australian Standards requirements.

These updates support RTOs in maintaining compliant delivery, accurate assessment practices, and audit readiness.

Updated MACGT materials will be available to Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) licensed to deliver the program from 22 June 2026.

RTOs should review the revised resources and update internal documentation as required to reflect the changes.

Units with Significant Changes

  • NAT11297003 Apply Australian standards and requirements to solve LV a.c. circuits/systems problems
  • NAT11297005 Select wiring systems and cables for low voltage electrical installations

  • NAT11297002 Document and apply control measures for Australian electrical workplace hazards and risks
  • NAT11297004 Select protection devices and systems for low voltage circuits and apparatus
