Changes to AS/NZS 3008.1.1:2025 have resulted in updates to our Minimum Australian Context Gap Training (MACGT) – NAT11297 Course in Electrician – Minimum Australian Context Gap resources to ensure continued alignment with current Australian Standards requirements.
These updates support RTOs in maintaining compliant delivery, accurate assessment practices, and audit readiness.
Updated MACGT materials will be available to Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) licensed to deliver the program from 22 June 2026.
RTOs should review the revised resources and update internal documentation as required to reflect the changes.
Units with Significant Changes
The following units have undergone substantive revision in response to changes to cable selection and compliance requirements:
- NAT11297003 Apply Australian standards and requirements to solve LV a.c. circuits/systems problems
- NAT11297005 Select wiring systems and cables for low voltage electrical installations
- NAT11297006 Verify compliance, functionality and aspects critical to the safety of electrical installations
Units with Minor Changes
The following units have received minor amendments to ensure continued alignment with current Standards:
- NAT11297002 Document and apply control measures for Australian electrical workplace hazards and risks
- NAT11297004 Select protection devices and systems for low voltage circuits and apparatus
What this means for RTO’s and Trainers?
From 22 June 2026, updated materials must be used to ensure alignment with the revised Standard. We recommend reviewing transition arrangements and updating delivery and assessment plans accordingly.
