Readiness Assessment

Designed for learners, employers, and RTOs, the Readiness Assessment (RA) helps determine whether an individual is prepared for the demands of an electrical apprenticeship. By assessing core literacy and numeracy skills aligned to the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF), the RA provides early insight into learning readiness.

What the Readiness Assessment Covers

Literacy
Importantly the Literacy component evaluates reading and writing skills aligned to ACSF Level 3, the recommended benchmark to support electrical apprentices in progressing successfully through their qualification.

Numeracy
The Numeracy component examines the fifteen core subtopics underpinning the first two years of the electrical trade program, with questions mapped across ACSF levels:

  • ACSF Level 1: 5 questions
  • ACSF Level 2: 13 questions
  • ACSF Level 3: 10 questions
  • ACSF Level 4: 22 questions

By completing the RA, early insights into learner strengths and gaps are provided.

Exemplar Profiling

Exemplar Profiling allows apprentices to record on-the-job work experiences in a structured and consistent way. All information is used by training organisations to track progress, validate skills, and demonstrate competency. Progress reports are generated and evaluated against defined industry standards, giving teachers and employers clear visibility of development.

How Does Exemplar Profiling Work?

Students capture their work experience online by completing detailed activity records. The platform tracks:

  • Quality, breadth, and range of tasks
  • Level of supervision and support
  • Evidence aligned to training package requirements

Teachers and employers can monitor this information in real time, ensuring apprentices receive the right guidance and feedback. Exemplar Profiling supports transparency, compliance, and confident workforce development.
