Exemplar Services has issued a PHP security update regarding our hosting infrastructure and platform protections.
Following recent global reports concerning core web library vulnerabilities (as detailed by Cybersecurity Dive), Exemplar Services and our hosting infrastructure partners, Catalyst, took immediate defensive action to safeguard all servers and student data.
Infrastructure Measures in our PHP Security Update
As part of this PHP security update, our IT team completed several proactive steps to guarantee platform integrity and continuous uptime:
- PHP Security Patch Successfully Applied: The official software patch has been successfully deployed across all EnergySpace LMS servers.
- Perimeter Defense (WAF Rules): Web Application Firewall (WAF) rules covering all known attack pathways were rolled out across our network to provide proactive, layered protection.
- Zero Suspicious Activity: Comprehensive security monitoring confirms that no suspicious or malicious activity occurred across any of our systems.
- Lighthouse Unaffected: All other services, including Lighthouse, do not utilise PHP and were unaffected.
- Exemplar Profiling unaffected.
System Status & Next Steps
No action is required on your part, and all Exemplar Services platforms remain online, secure, and operational.
